Pen Calibration / Hatches

A fluid test plot for designers working with different pens and papers. Adjust the sheet, nib, gutter, sample box, spacing range, increment, and rotation to make a practical calibration for the materials in hand.

Output paper

A4 portrait · 57 × 15 mm blocks · 0.10–1.00 mm

Hatch range

The full range is retained. It becomes additional output pages when needed.

Pen + drawing
Rules used

Each directional hatch is one continuous plotted path. Cross-hatches combine both directions. The square outline is the final subpath. Labels use Routed Gothic path geometry.

01 / HATCH STUDY OUTPUTS

100%

Output sheets sit side by side as pages of a sketchbook. The first spacing that plots as distinct lines indicates practical pen coverage.
