SFMOMA records that Paul Klee joined the Bauhaus teaching staff in 1921. Lecture notes developed there were edited and published as the Pedagogical Sketchbook in 1925; the publication connects studio practice with an account of pictorial elements and their relations. [1]
Why they matter here. For Algorithmics, Klee’s relevance is practical: a line is treated as an action unfolding in time, not only as a contour in a finished image.
